More Information on Illinois

Those living in Illinois should consider themselves fortunate. First there’s Chicago, one of America’s finest cities well within reach of the rest of the state, whether by car, boat, or rail. In a city this size, a delicious meal is always only a stone’s throw away. Think American Kobe steak to Chicago-style hot dogs, deep-dish pizzas, spicy Italian beef hoagies, savory sausages, and flavorful pastas. Or shop ‘til you drop on the Magnificent Mile. Enjoy a show or concert at Millennium Park in the summer, or take a few trips around the ice-skating rink in the winter. But as you know, there’s more to Illinois than Chicago alone. There’s the Illinois Railway Museum, the Ronald Reagan Home and Visitor Center, Lake Galena, and the Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa. And don’t forget to support your favorite team, whether it’s Chicago Bears, the White Sox at Comiskey Park, the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, Blackhawk’s hockey, or the fighting Illini of the University of Illinois, you’re sure to have an awesome time.

Travel Auctions-Fun Way to Bargain Travel

By now you’ve probably used an online booking site like Expedia or Travelocity. These sites are easy to use and often offer great deals on travel packages, hotels, car rentals, and flights. But, there is an even more fun and easy way to book your travels online! Consider participating in a travel auction! Online travel auction sites allow users to bid on a variety of travel deals and may offer greater savings than other online travel sites. Just like any other auction site, users search for and then bid on specific “items” during the bidding period, when the bidding period ends the user with the highest bid wins the item. Typically, travel details are entered after a winner is chosen.

Here are some helpful tips for using a travel auction site:

*Be patient. Travel auction sites are getting very popular and some people are bidding way over cost but deals can still be found if you are patient.

*Read all the fine print, as there may be taxes and fees that can increase the price. Sometimes the increase can be quite significant so you should consider the total cost (after tax and fees) when bidding for an item.

*Be flexible. Travel auctions are not ideal for travelers that require traveling on specific dates. Sometimes you may purchase the item and then chose dates at a later date.

*It may be helpful to know on average what the cost would be through a travel agent or other site. If the bids get too high, it may be easier to go elsewhere.

*See if there are any auction alert systems available on the site. Use this function to track your auctions. If available, it may be beneficial to see how items have been selling in the past. This can help you establish a maximum bidding price.

Sometimes booking travel and planning may be boring and tedious but with travel auctions, you can have fun while getting a great deal. To get started check out skyauctions.com!

Illinois is not only a great Midwestern state, it’s also home to one of the finest cities in America, if not the world, the one-and-only Chicago! No list of attributes can really capture everything this city or state has to offer, but it’s worth a shot. First, it’s easy to get around in Chicago, whether by foot, elevated train, or taxi you’re never far from the next hot spot. As for food it’s easy to find food of all types, from American Kobe steak filets to Chicago-style hot dogs. The city’s Italian influence is evident in the number of tasty deep-dish pizzas, spicy Italian beef hoagies, savory sausages, and flavorful pastas, found on menus throughout the city. Shoppers will shop ‘til they drop on the Magnificent Mile. Here they’ll find some of the finest free-standing boutiques, jewelers, and clothiers on the planet, as well as fabulous retail giants like Macy’s, and even one-of-a-kind stores where bargains await. In the warm months, Millennium Park hosts a magnitude of shows and concerts, while in the winter, its ice-skating rink is a major attraction. Navy Pier along the coast of Lake Michigan is also a must-see and hosts events year-round. But alas, there’s more to Illinois than Chicago alone. Illinois is also home to the Illinois Railway Museum, the Ronald Reagan Home and Visitor Center, Lake Galena, and Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa boasts which boasts 63 holes of championship golf. And if you enjoy spectator sports, grab some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, because Illinois is home to the Chicago Bears, the White Sox at Comiskey Park, the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, Blackhawk’s hockey, the fighting Illini of the University of Illinois, and many, many others.
